The Cultureverse, an initiative by POC Lab in partnership with Walmart through the Black and Unlimited Platform, represents a sustainable approach to celebrating Black identities and unlocking their limitless potential. This innovative project is a groundbreaking, gamified virtual experience that commemorates the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop. It is focused on transforming the representation of Black creativity within the gaming industry and sets a new standard for inclusivity and diversity in digital spaces

This experience, a unique blend of technology and culture, addresses the diversity gap in the $369 billion gaming industry, where, despite only 4% of game creators being Black, people of color are expected to make up 57% of U.S. gamers aged 6 to 29 within a decade. Cultureverse goes beyond traditional gaming boundaries.

It's not just a game; it's a vibrant journey through the heart of Hip-Hop culture, featuring a rich tapestry of 25 Black artists and creators, many stepping into the virtual world for the first time, thus breaking new ground in digital representation and showcasing a range of artistic expressions and narratives that pay vibrant tribute to Black excellence and creativity.

Reimagining gaming through culture, we developed an immersive, gamified museum on the Spatial platform. Celebrating hip-hop's 50th anniversary, the experience features eight zones, each highlighting Black creativity in hip-hop, with a focus on culture, fashion, and art. Players enter through the Hall of Legends, engaging with hip-hop history through vinyl collecting and immersive challenges.

The Black & Unlimited Gallery showcases works from four emerging Black artists, while the Art of Sound Zone presents the Museum of Graffiti's All Black Everything exhibit, featuring legendary graffiti artists and curated emerging artists. Rock the Bells offers a shoppable journey, and Jet magazine provides an interactive exploration of its archives. The Style of Sound Zone integrates culture with commerce, bringing 90's streetwear into digital fashion.

Each element is designed to connect players with content and each other, especially through Virtual Programming on the Main Stage, fostering engagement with creators, artists, and the gaming community. This dynamic approach not only enhances the gaming experience but also serves as a platform for cultural education and dialogue, shaping the future of gaming and digital engagement with hip-hop's influential legacy.


Resulting in +300 Million Total Media Impressions, The Cultureverse significantly outperformed its brand competitors, establishing a new standard for excellence in branded experiences on Spatial platform.
